Galway Orienteers Local Orienteering Events, Spring 2025; Start Times 11.00am to 12noon  Fees: Adult €8, Family Max €20, Child €5, Groups of 10 or more €4 per person Leader free.

The next Galway Orienteers “The Western Eagles” orienteering event will be Please note the first WEGO orienteering event for 2026 will be held on Sunday 1st February in Ballyloughane on a new map produced by Pat Healy. The scale is 1:3500 and the contour interval is 2m

There will be 2 courses on offer

Short 2.00k and Long 4.3K

The area is a mix of Roads, Paths and tracks close to the beach

Entries will open on Monday 26th January at 11am and close on Friday 30th January at 8pm

The following set of principles should be adhered to: Importance of childhood – The importance of childhood should be understood and valued by everyone involved in sport. Needs of the child – All children’s sport experiences should be guided by what is best for children. This means that adults should have a basic understanding of the emotional, physical and personal needs of young people. Integrity in relationships – Adults interacting with children in sport are in a position of trust and influence.
